Andrew DiMino was thrilled when he lost weight, but losing money was not what he had in mind when he started his online store, CarbSmart.com. When he found he was spending more money on advertising than he was making in sales, he knew something had to change.

The low carbohydrate diet was just beginning to be recognized and after being inspired by a co-worker's amazing weight loss, DiMino decided to give it a try – and had incredible results. DiMino originally sought out Solid Cactus for a redesign of his website. After five years of running an online store, DiMino decided it was time to kick it up a notch. He wanted to compete with the "big boys" and outperform his smaller competitors.

The newly redesigned CarbSmart.com was such a success DiMino decided to hire Solid Cactus again, this time to take over his pay per click (PPC) campaign.
"During the economy crisis, I knew I didn't want to cut my marketing. Businesses often never recover after doing this. I wanted to optimize my PPC and I knew if I let Solid Cactus manage it, I would see increased conversions without an increase in costs," he said.
CarbSmart.com had a typical 80-100% conversion rate before Solid Cactus; it now averages 400-500%. Conversions grew from 26 to 65 in the first month alone.
DiMino saw results immediately and he is very pleased with the decision he made.
"I was basically happy with the PPC I was doing, but I was trying to create campaigns, manage them, take orders and run my business at once. The campaign was not being optimized or expanded like I wanted it to," he explained.
