APM Kicks Their Online Presence Into Overdrive

Once you've created a successful retail business, what's next? APM Engine Parts knew the Internet could significantly increase profits and dove into eCommerce after 40 years as an established brick and mortar store. When APM wanted to jump start its Internet presence, they entrusted their online store to Solid Cactus.

APM Engine Parts has been a dominant force in auto reconditioning and automotive engine parts since 1961. It wasn't until 2002 they decided it was time to hit the waves of the World Wide Web and began selling engine parts on their very own eCommerce store.

In 2009, APM turned to Solid Cactus to enhance not only their website, but their Internet marketing by beginning a pay per click (PPC) campaign. Internet sales manager David DeBuc is thrilled with the services Solid Cactus has provided and says they won't be leaving any time soon. The best part is the pampering, DeBuc explains.

APM Engine Parts Internet sales manager David DeBuc worked with his Solid Cactus PPC specialist who reported PPC sales have jumped over a half a million in the first year.

"Every time we have a concern or need they jump on it. We've really been spoiled by their customer service," he said.

The first step in optimizing APM's Internet presence was to redesign their website. DeBuc worked with an account manager who helped him choose the right store package and features for his specific business, and then the design team at Solid Cactus took over to give the site the professional look and user-friendly experience he was looking for.

"It's been great. Any time I have a problem, I make a call and they fix it on the spot or get back to me very quickly. You're never flying solo; there are always people to help support you in your business," said DeBuc.

The next step was to increase the websites' traffic and conversions by setting up PPC campaigns. APM's PPC campaigns are focused around utilizing Google Adwords and in turn Debuc reports sales have jumped about 35% since starting with Solid Cactus.

APM has a single, dedicated PPC specialist, who manages the company's PPC campaigns in every aspect from keyword choice to cost per click. The company has seen incredible success and increases in sales since Solid Cactus began managing APM's account. With over a half a million in PPC sales alone in the first year, the online store is consistently breaking its monthly sales records.

DeBuc loves having one dedicated team member who knows his business inside and out. In fact, he wouldn't have it any other way.

"It's more like a friendship than a business relationship. He knows what our goals are just through interacting with each other," he said.

His PPC specialist strives to get quality traffic, or visitors which are more likely to convert, to APM's online store.

"Being able to narrow down the search so you're not spending on the general stuff gives us a more direct approach to what we sell," says DeBuc.

2009 has been a successful year for APM Engine Parts. Its first ever PPC account has resulted in increased, record-breaking sales and DeBuc is now looking to the future.

"We'll continue growing with Solid Cactus and we hope to get even more creative on edging out our competition. Solid Cactus has been crucial to where we are at now. [The staff has] been very easy to work with. Any time there's a question or concern, they're very eager to get back to me. I trust them, he said."

It is this trust that will allow APM Engine Parts and Solid Cactus to grow a mutual business partnership for years to come.
