SEM manager Mike Jozaitis works the internet for his Solid Cactus clients. "I manage and optimize their PPC (Pay Per Click) accounts," says Mike. "I work with the top tier search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. We try to go further and find contextual networks for maximum return on investment. It's a constant process."
Mike was an eagle scout as a kid and while he used a computer, "I wasn't an uber-geek," he laughs. Mike got a degree in business with a major in marketing and saw the potential of computers as a college junior. "I took an e-commerce class and I got interested in it. I was fascinated by what the internet really is. It's the thing that puts people who want something together with people who have something via a giant bank of information. I love putting people together. You can do it right or do it wrong, so how do you it right? From there, how do we build a brand?"
Mike found Solid Cactus online, maybe it was a sign. He liked them right away. "The people are excited," he says. "They were doing something innovative and I knew I wanted to be here. I wanted to work with people who share my passion."
Mike has a feel for marketing and he has the freedom to trust his instincts at Solid Cactus. "I can do what I think is right," he says. "I have the flexibility to do what I think is right without having to check with 10 people. I can take ownership of the things I do and make things happen for my clients. It's a great feeling to have at a company."
Mike wants to move up at Solid Cactus. "It comes down to learning," he says. "The more I learn about the advances in marketing, the more help I am to our clients. Everybody feels that way at Solid Cactus. We've already made the INC 500. Now we want the Fortune 500!"
