Solid Cactus pioneer Sunil Lukose, RTML Manager, heads up the Product Development team. The team's challenge is to develop new products for merchants. The task requires someone who understands Yahoo stores well to develop new features to make them better. Sunil once managed the Programming team and programmed hundreds of stores. He believes the Product Development team returns him, his team and Solid Cactus back to their strength---innovation. "Solid Cactus changed the face of Yahoo stores," says Sunil. "We've been leaders because of our features. This team is all about pioneering and feature development to keep us #1."
Sunil Lukose is an expert in RTML, the computer language of Yahoo stores. "I learned back in India when we got a Yahoo store dumped in the lap of our computer company," recalls Sunil. "I had to learn the Yahoo computer language. Along the way I met Stephen McDonald on-line talking about Yahoo stores and how to best navigate the language. Then I met Joe Palko (co-founder) on-line, we began corresponding and I started working for Solid Cactus. Joe asked me to move here, so I did."
Yes, Sunil Lukose came to Wilkes-Barre, PA from Ahmedabad, India. Doesn't everyone? "Solid Cactus wanted me here," says Sunil, "and I wanted to work for them. My family and I are staying. We love it here and we love Solid Cactus."
For Sunil, it comes down to the work and the workplace. "I've been involved with computers for nearly two decades," he says. "Before learning the Yahoo! computer language I was already an ASP programmer and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
"But I came to Solid Cactus to be part of something great. Everyone here is good at what they do. And the teamwork is fantastic. Everyone helps out. You never have to jump through hoops to talk to someone," says Sunil. "But more than that, it's like a family here. I never feel as if I'm from a foreign country.
Sunil is a Solid Cactus pioneer, but it never seems to get old. "I was the seventh person hired," he says. "We're now many times the size we were, but the attitude hasn't changed. Working with such a young enthusiastic group is great. We believe we can solve any problem. I believe Solid Cactus will grow to be much larger and more successful. I am very excited.
