Yahoo! Store Design - Solid Cactus
Lindsey Ranaldopad
"I like programming. I like the logic of it; I like the problem-solving of it. Most of all I like seeing what I do being used on e-commerce sites."

Lindsey Ranaldo is an RTML programmer who builds web sites for Solid Cactus using the unique Yahoo! Platform logic. "I take a design which is a mock-up and make it web-friendly," she says. I make it functional so the client and the client's customers can use it."

Lindsey has been into computers since early elementary school. "I started by typing," she recalls. "I played the old games like 'Oregon Trail.' By middle school I was on the internet and taught myself Word and Excel. By high school I got into desktop publishing and that's when I decided to major in programming in college."

Lindsey started at a two-year school and majored in computer information systems, learning JAVA, C++, COBOL, SQL and RPG+. Then it was onto a four-year school where she majored in management information systems. "That was the business end of what we do," she says. "Then I came to Solid Cactus."

Lindsey found Solid Cactus the old fashioned way, a newspaper ad. She saw they were hiring web developers. "I got the job that day," she says.

She likes her job. "The pay is good, the growth of the company is good and learning is always good," she says. "I like the work I do. The team environment is very supportive and I like the people who work here."

As for the future, Lindsey Ranaldo is sure she wants to learn more. "I'm not sure about management at this point though," she says. "Maybe I'll grow into being responsible for others sometime down the road. We'll see."
