Search Engine Marketing and FeedPerfect Manager
"I worked in the corporate world and learned that some companies just don't care about you. Then I came to Solid Cactus. For the first time I look forward to coming to work."
Leigh McGlynn wears a couple of important hats at Solid Cactus. She's a search engine marketing manager and she's the manager of the first piece of Solid Cactus proprietary software, FeedPerfect. " I manage our clients’ Comparison Shopping Engine (CSE) accounts using FeedPerfect," says Leigh. "I set up each shopping engine and talk to clients in terms of their products. Before FeedPerfect it was very difficult to tell how individual products were performing. Now I can proactively manage accounts and keep clients from losing money by listing products that perform the best and taking products off that don’t. FeedPerfect is a perfect science."
In addition Leigh is an SEM manager, managing client accounts on Google, Yahoo and MSN. "We make sure that when a shopper types in certain words, our clients’ ads are on the first page of the search results," she says. She also makes sure that when a user clicks on an ad that they land on exactly the right page of the website, to make the buying process a lot easier. "It's daily management. You're always tweaking ads, optimizing keywords and finding new ways of getting products out there. New ads, new keywords, we use whatever works."
Leigh received an Associates Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management and received a Bachelors Degree in Business with a Marketing Management option. She spent years in the restaurant business before going into sales with the phone book. "I learned a lot in my first ‘real’ job, but I didn't gain a lot of confidence in companies." After a second sales job, Leigh found Solid Cactus at a job fair. "When I saw an opening in marketing, I jumped at it."
Leigh loves the Cactus attitude. "I feel like I'm appreciated," says Leigh. "You do something good and everyone knows because everyone's told. People are genuinely happy for you." She wants to expand her horizons under the Solid Cactus sun. "I enjoy helping new people, so I'd be a good employee trainer, and I want to do lot more with FeedPerfect. This is a great product and the numbers are staggering. This is a huge hit for us. I see myself staying right here."
