Lisa Kramer
Manager, Sales Operations"Sales begin and end with us. The first voice they hear is the Inside Sales Rep and the last voice is the Sales Coordinator, making sure the process is in place."
Sales Operations Manager Lisa Kramer handles the process of putting potential Solid Cactus clients together with Solutions Advisors who will help make them into Solid Cactus clients. She manages the Inside Sales Rep and the Sales Coordinator. "Our team answers all the incoming new client sales calls," says Lisa. "I make sure every Solutions Advisor is on top of what they do." That includes looking for opportunities, creating sales processes and organizing client training, among a thousand other details. "Then my OCD kicks in so I restock our free food racks and handle vendor relations," she says with a laugh. "Basically, my job is all about communication."
Appropriately, Lisa graduated with a degree in Communications from King's College. It has come in handy at Solid Cactus. "So much of my job comes down to simply putting the right people together," she says. The right people mean a lot. Lisa came to Solid Cactus for one important reason, the boss. "I've known Joe Palko (co-founder) since I was a teenager. I know how smart he is, and I knew that if he were involved with a company it would be a good place to work. I knew I wanted to be part of Solid Cactus." She was one of the first 15 or so people through the door. "We've gotten so large now," she laughs at the memory. "The sales team started with me and one sales person!"
Lisa sounds like other Solid Cactus pioneers, she likes the people. "It's very relaxed day to day," she says. "People are working hard, but they still take the time to be nice to each other."
Lisa has grown with the company and she says she likes having some influence now. "My advantage is I know where the co-founders Scott and Joe are coming from," she says. I see how they're trying to build Solid Cactus." She's also preparing for the day when she'll be managing a significantly larger department. "I'm waiting for the Sales Operations team to jump in size."
Lisa says her future lies with Solid Cactus. "I'd like to see my team grow and perhaps get involved in more inside sales," says Lisa. "Perhaps someday run it as a separate division. You know, in a warmer climate…."
