Yahoo! Merchant Solutions SSL Update

Yahoo! Merchant Solutions has announced that it will be changing the way their web hosting’s SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) feature works on or after October 15, 2008.

If your site uses this feature, it will continue to function as normal after the update, however customers will be shown a warning message when they visit secure areas. This message can make a difference in a customer’s confidence in your website and cause them to shop elsewhere.

If your store uses any of the following Solid Cactus features on Yahoo! Web Hosting, you are affected.

  • Login / Account Registration
  • Product Reviews
  • Google Analytics version 2.0 or lower
  • Checkout Manager w/Left Nav
  • Image Uploader

If you know you’re affected by these, you’ll want to purchase an upgrade package as soon as possible to make sure your site is ready for the changeover on October 15th.

If you’re not sure if you’re affected, Solid Cactus is offering a SSL Checkup to ensure that your store will be up to date. If your store is not affected by the change you’ll be good to go. If we discover that your site requires updates, we will provide you with instructions on purchasing an update package.
