Alicia Magda
SEO Specialist"'Content is king' as they say in search engine marketing. That fits nicely with my abilities. I'm more of a writer than a techie."
SEO Specialist Alicia Magda plays the delicate game of rankings with her best weapon, words. "I try to get sites ranked higher in natural search engine rankings," says Alicia. "I do lots of research for my clients and then I write lots of content. Search engines love fresh content. I try to insert keywords in Meta Tags as well." In addition, Alicia sends search engine optimized news releases to syndicated sites. The goal is to get the sites to add Solid Cactus clients to their sites. "The key is to write the copy from a controversial or unique angle to make that copy stand out to site owners."
Alicia does lots of link building, too. "Search engines reward you with higher rankings if there are many quality sites linked to you," Alicia explains. "It's always quality over quantity of sites and again, you have to stand out. To get them to link with my clients, I send out unique messages targeted specifically to the site. Then I try to make it worth their while. I offer free articles or blog posts to the site owner where I'm sending the request.
Alicia is also getting into Social Media Optimization (SMO). "It's basically people online connecting with each other," she explains. "It involves sites where users create profiles. We then submit that content to different SMO sites in hopes that others will identify with the content and add their link.
Alicia comes to the written word with lots of experience and many awards in her background. She was honored for her poetry and creative writing in college. "I always liked the internet and writing," says Alicia. "My background is in English."
Alicia wants a future with Solid Cactus. "I want to continue writing and build SEO here," she says. "But I want to do much more with Social Media as I believe that's where the future of SEO is headed. Think of it as people over machines down the road." That road will be with Solid Cactus, if Alicia has anything to say about it. "It's relaxed but fast-paced and we're always moving forward. I was hired as an intern and I'm still here! I love it!"
